laundry not on outside wall?

Postby christiner » August 09 2009

there is a half bath directly behind the washer that has the exterior wall. behind the dryer is our hot water heater in the garage. Is there any hope for setting up a greywater system with a diverter valve with this floorplan?

Yes. Check out the Laundry to Landscape system: http://oasisdesign.net/greywater/laundry.

Here's some options:

1) Sneak the 1" line to the outside at the height of the top of the washer, put an auto vent or breather tube just outside before the line drops to ground level.

2) put an auto vent at the high point of the line by the washer, then sneak out along the walls at floor level, using an aluminum threshold to cover it where it passes a doorway, or go through the floor and out through the crawl space.

Good luck!
