Julia,
I don't know much about these things, unfortunately. I don't know if anyone
does. Regulations are a bewildering patchwork in the US, and all I really
hear is rumors here and there of how things are, plus some familiarity with
the California and Uniform Plumbing Code model ordinances, which are
reprinted and deconstructed in the Builder's GW Guide-book.
